Your Privacy Choices

Opt out of advertising tracking, and exercise your privacy rights.

Checking your current setting…

If this message does not change, JavaScript is turned off in your browser. You can still opt out by emailing privacy@latchel.com.

What this control does

Turning the opt-out on stops us loading advertising and attribution technologies on this website, and stops us recording your session. Under California law that is an opt-out of the “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Privacy Policy describes what we load.

  • It applies to this browser. We record your choice in a cookie on your own device, because you are not signed in. If you clear your cookies, or use a different browser or device, you will need to set it again.
  • It covers this website, not the Latchel application. The application, at app.latchel.com and our other Latchel subdomains, uses technologies of the kind described in the Privacy Policy as part of how the software works. They are not advertising, and they are not a sale or sharing of your personal information, so this control does not reach them. Your use of the application is covered by the Privacy Policy and by the agreement that applies to you.
  • It does not stop plain measurement. Analytics that counts page views and shows us how the site is used keeps running. It is our own first-party measurement, not advertising, and it is not a sale or sharing of your personal information, so it is not what an opt-out turns off. What stops is the advertising and attribution technologies, and the recording of your session.
  • It does not reach your records. Information your property manager gave us, your maintenance history and call recordings are not affected. For those, use Your privacy rights below.

We will not treat you differently for opting out.

Global Privacy Control

We honor Global Privacy Control, so you do not have to visit this page at all. GPC is a signal your browser or a browser extension sends automatically on every site you visit, and we treat it as an opt-out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. globalprivacycontrol.org lists which browsers send it and where to get an extension.

We also do not load these technologies for visitors who appear to be in the European Union or the United Kingdom.

We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, because no common standard for interpreting them was ever agreed. GPC is the signal that works.

What we do for everyone

  • We do not sell personal information for money.
  • We do not create voiceprints or other biometric identifiers.
  • Where an advertising platform offers a setting that limits how it uses your data, such as Meta Limited Data Use and Google Restricted Data Processing, we enable it for all traffic.
  • A service provider sent to your home may use your details only for that job. Our terms forbid them to market their own services to you, to add you to a mailing, texting or calling list, or to pass your information on: see Terms of Use, section 8.c.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a portable copy, or stop certain uses. You can also appeal a decision we make. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

Email privacy@latchel.com, or write to Latchel, Inc., Attn: Privacy, 1111B S Governors Ave, STE 6677, Dover, DE 19904. Tell us your name, the email address or phone number you use with us, the address of the property if your request relates to a home, and what you would like us to do.

Where your request goes

This depends on where the information came from, not on who you are.

  • If your property manager gave us the information, or it was generated through their account, they are responsible for it and we act on their instruction. We identify the property manager where we can, forward your request to them, and tell you we have done so.
  • If we collected the information ourselves, through an account you hold with us, a form you filled in, or your use of latchel.com, we handle your request ourselves.

How we handle it

  • We will ask for enough information to confirm it is really you. We will not be able to act on a request we cannot verify.
  • An authorized agent can act for you with proof that you authorized them.
  • We acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need longer we will tell you why, and may take up to 90 days in total.
  • If we decline and your state gives you a right to appeal, reply with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days with our decision and our reasons, and tell you how to contact your state attorney general.
